This is a wrong analogy, Ev. Considering Medium is like a television flipping through channels. The thing is television you described powered by ads and viewership. It doesn't add up with Medium business model. Try this one: Consider a bookstore or say, a library, as an analogy for Medium. A bookstore needs a consumer and that consumer is certainly a reader.
